Dorking Service Centre has beaten off tough competition to take second place in a major national motor industry awards scheme.
Dorking Service Centre on South Street – part of the Bosch Car Service network – has been highly commended in the ‘Independent Garage of the Year’ category of the Motor Trader Industry Awards 2006. The awards are sponsored by the leading trade magazine Motor Trader.
Directors Sid Swaine and Kevin Field learned of their award at a prestigious ceremony at London’s Grosvenor Hotel on Tuesday 18 July hosted by television celebrity Tom O’Connor.
The company won the award for its outstanding growth and excellence in customer care since it opened as a Member of the Bosch Car Service (BCS) network in February 2004. This has included:
- Attending to over 6,000 vehicles
- Achieving almost 80 per cent repeat business and 20 per cent direct referrals from customers
Sid Swaine, managing director at Dorking Service Centre said: “We are delighted to have been highly commended at a nationwide event in which we were competing against many independent service centres from all over the country.
This is wonderful achievement for such a young business as ours. We’ve only been going for a couple of years and we were narrowly beaten by a long-established firm in Cornwall that is now in the hands of the third generation of the owner’s family. So we’ve got a lot to be proud of!
This award provides a powerful and independent endorsement of the hard work that everybody in the business has put in to consistently deliver the highest quality of customer service across all areas of our business. We continue to strive to be the best, which we hope is reflected by the large number of repeat customers we now have.”
To become a member of the Bosch Car Service network requires the highest standards of staff training and quality of service to customers. These are regularly and vigorously assessed by Bosch and are fully met by Dorking Service Centre. Within 18 months of its appointment it had become the first of the 300 independent garages in the network across the UK to be awarded the prestigious BCS Quality Award.
Recent changes in the law now mean that you can now get your car serviced where you choose without affecting the terms of the manufacturer’s warranty. That gives you more flexibility to suit your needs and get the work done at more competitive costs.
At Dorking Service Centre you can be sure that the work will be undertaken to the highest standard and at competitive prices. In the well-equipped workshop a wide range of mechanical repairs and servicing work can be carried out using sophisticated computerised equipment operated by skilled technicians and using only approved parts.
Engine tuning, servicing and repair of air conditioning, clutch and brake adjustment and replacement, and wheel alignment can all be carried out, along with MOT testing on a ‘while you wait’ basis. If you want your car collecting and returning to your workplace, that too is easily arranged. And if you’re looking for a quality used car the company is signed up to the RAC inspection scheme.
